![]() Gunyah Stud was established in 2003 and is located at Wamboin, NSW just outside the ACT border. It was commenced to satisfy the need for smaller sized properties to hold a reasonable sized herd without over stressing the carrying capacity. The choice of the galloway breed was based on their ability to calve easily and maintain good body weight on any type of food. They can cope with a cold climate where the temperatures frequently go into minus in the winter months but can also handle hot temperatures. The galloways' have a short, soft, mossy undercoat and a courser longer outer coat. They are also very fertile and have high yielding carcasses.
The Gunyah Stud started with solid coloured cows and now boasts stud quality whites, blacks and belties. Success was achieved in the local show circuit with Grand Champion Female Cow at the 2004 Bungendore, Crookwell, Royal Canberra, Booroowa and Yass Shows and Supreme Champion female at three of those shows.
